I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design in 2008. Feeling pretty burnt out from spending 3 years learning how to use Flash and Photoshop filters, I decided to pursue a career in fashion retail.
For the past 10 years I have worked in Visual Merchandising and Styling roles for various retailers, with the last 5 years in a head office based role working on Showroom and Trade show layouts.
I started Little M 5 years ago whilst on maternity leave with my eldest Max. I wanted to do something for myself that wasn't binge watching box sets on Netflix (although there was plenty of that happening too). I've always loved typography so I began practising brush lettering in between naps and feeds and soon had a sketchbook full of ideas. I launched a small collection of prints in my Etsy shop on a whim, 2 weeks before returning to work full time.
Since then Little M has grown with an emphasis on Personalised prints. In August 2019 whilst on maternity leave with my 2nd child Mabel and after being made redundant, I decided to take the leap and take my business full time.
Two years on and although my two Little M's are growing up and heading to school, I am still constantly inspired by them and their little imaginations.
I still run my business from my tiny studio in Leicester but I'm slowly achieving my very big dreams. You can now shop my range on Etsy, Not On The High Street and Scandiborn (Oct).
